These blogging platforms also offer a good set of features and plugins that help the blog owners in making their blogs customized, aesthetically pleasing, interactive, search engine friendly, spam free and what not. Here we are listing some useful plugins provided by Movable Type, Wordpress, Expression Engine and Blogger.
Movable Type
TypePad AntiSpam- This free tool from typepad allows you to block comments spam to improve the quality of your blog conversations and also enhances the credibility of your blog. It is basically a spam filtering service that combines several engines to check comments, trackBacks and pingbacks.

Comment Subscribe- It is a comment notification plugin that lets you check follow up comments in your email. If a user checks a box when posting a comment, they will receive emails every time someone else posts a comment on the same entry.
Image Cropper – This pluging provides a simple user interface for managing and generating custom thumbnails from any image. You can manage and organize all related thumbnails from a single dashboard. It creates alternate thumbnails using a simple drag-and-drop feature.

IntenseDebate Comments – This Plugin by WordPress enhances and encourages conversation on your blog. Comment threading, reply via email,accounts, comment voting, along with Twitter and friendfeed enhance your readers’ experience and promote your blog which boots traffic of your blog.
WordPress.com Stats – Similar to Google analytics this provides an incredible depth of information about your pageviews, which posts and pages are the most popular, where your traffic is coming from, and what people click on when they leave. It provides you with a link which allows you to see all your stats on one single page.
Multi-level Navigation – This is a great time saving plugin for bloggers. It lets you drag your main pages and provides complete over what goes in your menu, including allowing blog categories and archives.
Contact Form 7- It is a form generator that lets you create any kind of form that’s emailed to you as soon as it’s filled out. It’s also fully customizable and enables you to edit how the email that’s sent to you is structured as well.
ShareThis plugin- This plugin works as a marketing plugin that allows your readers to submit your links to social media sites or by email. It also remembers your social media login info if you have an account with them. It will post your post’s title and shortened URL to the user’s account.
Expression Engine
Acronym– This free plugin for Expression Engine replaces common acronyms with a dotted underline, description, and help cursor.
Auto Linker –This plugin automatically converts URLs and emails into links. You can use this plugin for creating instant links and post them on different forums and websites.
Comment Leaders – This Free plugin is quite interesting in making your blog popular. It displays the top commenters of your blog who regularly post comments on your weblog.
Blogtimes – Another Free plugin from expression engine that displays a graph (PNG image) representing post time for the current month.
Find and Replace -This is a helpful plugin allows you to search for text within your site and replace it with another piece of text. This search and replace operation can be performed on your entry titles, within any of the entry fields, or within your Templates.
Blogger
Top Commentators – This excellent plugin allows you to filter out the blog author’s name from the top commentators list. It lets you filter out as many names as you want by using the filtering option in the widget installer (the filters should be separated by commas).
Google Talk – This plugin lets you send instant messages, transfer files, make voice calls with your gtalk connections and leave voicemail messages. It also lets you preview photos and videos that you uploaded from Picasa Web Album or YouTube.
Rating – Another great plugin to add rating system to your blog. You can easliy install this excellent plugin to get readers ratings on your posts. It has rating system plus related posts integration in same widget.
Random/Rotating - This is a useful plugin that lets you display rotating banners in your blog’s header. You can customize and can choose any number of headers.
Bookmarking Widget – This plugin helps in promoting your blog on different social bookmarking websites. You just need to install it it automatically bookmarks your blog on popular websites. It has big animated icons and provides one click installation.
